SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Alabama football spent its first full day in California on Saturday, beginning the morning with the College Football Playoff Media Day followed by an afternoon practice at Stanford University. The Crimson Tide worked in rainy conditions in Palo Alto for two hours with only two days remaining before the national title game.
The Saturday practice at Stanford was the Crimson Tide’s first session in California and the fifth of six practices prior to Monday’s 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship Game against No. 2 Clemson at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. The matchup between the Crimson Tide and Tigers is set for a 7 p.m. CT kickoff on ESPN with Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit in the booth and Tom Rinaldi and Maria Taylor on the sidelines.
Alabama and Clemson will match up for the fourth consecutive season in the Playoff and the 19th time overall in a series that favors the Tide, 14-4. The two teams last met in New Orleans, La., for the 2018 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1, with UA earning a 24-6 win inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
