MOBILE, Ala. (Nov. 7) – The Senior Bowl will host a first of its kind event in Mobile the Sunday before Thanksgiving when it hosts the first annual ‘Turkey Touchdown’ event at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

“The Thanksgiving holiday means family and football,” said Reese’s Senior Bowl Executive Director Jim Nagy, “and we wanted to do something fun for the city.”

The event will start at 11:00am on Nov. 18 with a Saints tailgate in the west parking lot. Fans can tailgate and watch the first-place Saints take on the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles on a giant screen in the parking lot. The Saints game kicks off at noon.

Also at noon, the first of three youth football games kicks off when the 12U Mobile County All-Stars take on the Mobile City All-Stars. They are followed by the CYO 3rd-4th grade champs from Christ the King facing St. Paul’s, the private school/Youth Development League champs.

After the second game, members of the Senior Bowl Ambassador Club, including Mobile’s newly enshrined Pro Football Hall of Famer Robert Brazile, will be on hand to help recognize the top high school senior players in Mobile and Baldwin Counties – players who could be future Senior Bowlers down the road.

Then the 8U Mobile County All-Stars will battle the Mobile City All-Stars in the final game of the day.

Throughout the day, the Senior Bowl will be handing off 400 turkey dinners to preselected families through Feeding the Gulf Coast.
