Mobile city leaders are making sure people who work and play in Downtown Mobile feel safe.

43-year-old Douglas Dunson, a homeless man, was arrested this week for allegedly attacking and trying to rape a woman inside the RSA parking garage.

NBC 15 wanted to see how easy it was for us to walk through garage gates and avoid security.

We found out it wasn't hard.

We took this concern straight to Public Safety Director James Barber who says security guards are part of the solution for more protection.

But he says the layout of these garages is where he sees the biggest problem.

Barber says security cameras need to face entryways.

Police are also talking with stores and buisnesses along the downtown streets to advise them on their security protocols .
