Reality Check: New playgrounds and improvements
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) —
Mobile city leaders are putting a major emphasis on new projects centered around families and children.
They hope a new playground built in Maysville will replace a void children in that community are missing out on a place to play.
Your tax dollars are funding this project.
Parents in district one asked City Councilman Fred Richardson year after year about building a playground at Harmon Park.
New lights were installed by the basketball court, and many parents we spoke to could not be happier with the improvements.
Next week the city council set to approve a contract for a brand new splash pad.
It'd complement the cool new park installed last year.
These new park upgrades and additions come at a high cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars, but city leaders say it's worth it.
