Project Education: Baldwin County teachers soon receiving pay raises
BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) —
Teachers in Baldwin County may soon be some of the highest paid in the state.
The state of Alabama will soon give teachers a 2 and half percent pay raise and the Baldwin County School Board has plans to match it.
That vote is happening tonight and could soon make educators there the highest paid in the state.
The five percent raise comes with struggles as most teachers still try to find ways to equip their classrooms.
Some teachers turn to websites like donorschoose.org to make up the difference asking the public to fund the extra things they need.
In most cases money raised is matched by corporate sponsors.
