Security guard stops shooter at Huntsville nightclub
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WPMI) —
A security officer, credited with saving lives after a man fired a rifle outside a Huntsville nightclub, is finally speaking out.
It happened at 12:40 a.M new years eve right outside the entertainment complex along long avenue.
It started when staff had to break up a fight between two men.
That is when one of the men went to a car in the parking lot, grabbed the rifle, and started shooting towards the club.
The guard, known only as Latoya, was the only armed guard nearby.
The suspect has been identified as Samuel Williams, a convicted felon.
He was shot in the leg, forcing him to lower his rifle and stop shooting.
Latoya then ran inside to grab a tourniquet when she returned Williams was gone.
He was admitted into the hospital and placed under arrest.
He is charged with shooting into an unoccupied vehicle , certain persons forbidden to carry, menacing and reckless endangerment.
