Pictures of U.S. soldiers killed in Afghanistan released
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WPMI) —
The pictures of the three U.S. Service members have been released.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack and said a military vehicle was destroyed.
The service members were in an area where a improvised explosive device detonated.
The Defense Department identified the service members who were killed as 29-year-old Army Captain Andrew Patrick Ross, 25-year-old Air Force Staff Sergeant Dylan J. Elchin, and 39-year-old Army Sergeant First Class Eric Michael Elmond.
Ross and Elmond were assigned to First Battalion Third Special Forces Group from Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Elchin was assigned to the 26th Special Tactics Unit Squadron at Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico.
