A crew aboard a 90 foot shrimp boat this week pulled up something unexpected in their net: a package suspected to be cocaine.

The package had an image of a horse head on it and Spanish writing. The crew, unsure initially what it was, opened it and discovered the white powdery substance. The crew then reported it to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The crew was not actually shrimping but doing site clearance work in the Gulf off the coast of Grand Isle, La. The process involves dragging nets on the sea floor in a grid pattern after an oil rig is decommissioned to ensure debris is not left behind.
