UPDATE: Prichard fire hydrant missing for 9 years replaced
PRICHARD, Ala. (WPMI) —
An update to a story we've been following: a fire hydrant missing for nine years has finally been replaced.
When we told you about Lottie Fortner's home in October, we mentioned the hydrant closest to her house was gone.
That problem has since been fixed.
When the house caught fire, responders had to travel a street away for water.
The woman lost her home.
Last month the city and its water board came to an agreement to replace the city's failing hydrants.
It's paying $28,000 a month to cover the cost of fixing them all.
