Tuesday morning weathermaker: Storms, some brief heavy rain

(image: WPMI) Tuesday morning weathermaker: Storms, some brief heavy rain

Temperatures were above average on Sunday and we should probably get used to it as warmer than normal weather sticks around during the work week.

Wake-up temperatures on Monday morning in the middle 50s will climb into the lower 70s during the afternoon despite quite a few clouds and a risk of rain.

Our next weathermaker moves through on Tuesday and while showers and storms are a near definite, the risk of severe weather remains very low. Officially, we are under a level 1 (0-5 scale) threat from the Storm Prediction Center. I believe pockets of gusty wind to 30-35 mph are possible, but widespread severe weather is not expected at this time.

The timing of the showers will impact your Tuesday morning commute. I expect most of the rain to fall between 6 am and noon with up to .50" of rainfall across the area.
