Spanish Fort High school and Rockwell Elementary schools were both put on lockdown Monday morning.

Spanish Fort Police attempted to make a traffic stop earlier this morning. The driver of the vehicle that was stopped did not cooperate and jumped out of his car and ran off.

School officials tell NBC 15 they believe the man ran towards Daphne, but as a precautionary measure they put Spanish Fort High and Rockwell under lockdown.

The lockdown was lifted around 11AM.
