MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — South Alabama football will honor Aubreigh Nicholas by wearing a lemon decal on their helmets for the 2018 season.
Eleven-year-old Aubreigh lost her battle with a rare brain cancer, DIPG, last week. She created the Lemon Challenge to help spread awareness about DIPG and it soon became viral.
USA Athletics sent NBC 15 a proof of the logo that was inspired by a challenge.
Many celebrities from Nick Saban, local government leaders and people from around the world have taken her challenge.
South Alabama opens at home against Louisiana Tech Sept. 1 at 6 p.m.
