Report: Teen drove 92 MPH in fatal Mobile County crash
A police report obtained by NBC 15 News shows a 16-year-old driver involved in a fatal crash that a killed Mobile mother was going 92 mph in a 30 mph zone.
The report says the 16-year-old boy hit Claudia Leatherwood as she pulled out of a driver on Lloyd's Lane November 3rd last year. She was killed in the crash. Her two children who were also in the car survived.
Brooke Leatherwood had serious head trauma and was in the hospital for more than a month. The nine-year-old can now walk and talk again and was released before the holidays.
The Leatherwood family has filed a civil suit against the 16-year-old. To date, no criminal charges have been filed against the teen.
