BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) — A plan is now in place for an extension for the Baldwin Beach Express.
It's being called a hurricane evacuation route.
Right now the Baldwin Beach Express is a dead end headed north after crossing I-10.
The demand and the desire to extend the expressway is gaining steam.
An expansion from east of Bay Minette alongside the industrial mega-site and all the way to I-65
In the end the entire project will cost close to $200 million.
BP Restore Council money will pay for some of it but not all.
