Police units were on scene near Chelsea Woods Drive off Grand Bay Wilmer Road Saturday morning searching the woods for a naked man.

The Mobile County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) told NBC 15 that they were searching for a man with mental problems who was last seen wearing no clothes.

He was not wanted for any crimes and deputies were hoping to find him and get him some assistance.

Witnesses who live nearby told NBC 15 that a man ran into the woods naked and police with dogs entered the woods trying to apprehend him.

By 5 p.m. Saturday MCSO said they had not located the naked man and therefore called off the search after using dogs and drones to search for him.

Then on Sunday morning at 11:14 MCSO tweeted that they had safely found the man, who's homeless, and transported him for a medical and mental evaluation.
