Pensacola woman beats ex with a board over a cat
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) —
A Pensacola woman has been arrested for beating a man with a piece of wood.
According to the report, 39-year-old Christy Smith had been arguing with her ex-boyfriend via text about a cat they used to have together.
Smith stated she was going to arrive at the victim's house and threatened to fight his wife, according to the report.
When Smith arrived on scene, she began banging on his front and back doors, the report said.
Smith became irate and started to beat the back door with a wooden chair that caused the chair to break, the report revealed.
The report also stated out of fear Smith would break glass on the back door to get into the home, the victim opened the door in an attempt to get her to leave.
Smith then started beating him in the head with part of the wooden chair, according to the report.
The victim's wife called police and recorded the entire incident, the report said.
When police arrived on scene, Smith attempted to hide in a shed when officers detained her, the report revealed.
Smith was arrested and charged with battery and criminal mischief over $200.
She was taken to Escambia County Jail.
Smith has no bond.
