MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — A mother and son have been arrested and charged in connection to a shooting outside Davidson High School last month during a basketball game between Blount and Murphy.
Mobile police arrested 46-year-old LaSandra Dortch and her 15-year-old son in connection with a shooting at Davidson High School that left two people injured.
The shooting happened on January 25th after a basketball game on Davidson’s campus. A 17-year-old and 20-year-old man were shot.
MPD Chief Lawrence Battiste said this arrest serves as a reminder to parents that if they condone violence or aid their children in violent behavior they will face charges.
Dortch is charged with two counts of assault, hindering prosecution and providing a false address.
After the shooting a Mobile public schools board member urged the installation of metal detectors at all school sporting events.
