On Saturday, July 7, 2018 Mobile Fire-Rescue (MFRD) units were responding to a report of one man shot in the head and now they are being recognized for their quick-thinking and life-saving actions during that call by their peers.

When MFRD crews arrived on the scene they performed a quick assessment and determined the man who was shot needed to get to a trauma center for surgery... fast.

The team was on scene for only 2 minutes and had a 5 minute transport through heavy traffic.

"For their quick thinking, proper recognition, teamwork, and appropriate action," Fire Chief Mark Sealy presented the crews with the Lifesaving Award, according to a press release from MFRD on Thursday.

Below are the names of the Firefighters recognized.
