Mobile City Council considering ordinance change
Today, the Mobile City Council is set to consider an amendment to city ordinances related to contracts.
The proposal is to amend certain sections of city ordinances allowing the council to enter contracts.
Council members argue they're permitted by the Zoghby Act.
Mayor Stimpson argues: Only the mayor’s office can enter into contracts.
This proposed change comes on the heels of a lawsuit filed by the mayor against the council.
This was over the attempted re-hiring of a communications coordinator, fired by Mayor Stimpson in October.
