A major opioid manufacturer is changing their marketing practices only days after the state of Alabama announced plans to sue the company.
Purdue Pharma says it will no longer push highly addictive Oxycontin pills on doctors.
The company plans to cut its sales force in half.
Purdue faces lawsuits from a number of U.S. cities and states Including the state of Alabama which filed its suit last Tuesday.
Purdue is also one of the targets of the lawsuits filed by Infirmary Health and by Baldwin County that NBC 15 was first to tell you about.
The company is accused of deceptive marketing practices misleading patients about the benefits of the drugs and risks of addiction.
