Jury finds Derrick Dearman guilty of 10 counts of Capital Murder, recommends death
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) —
The jury trial for a Mobile County man ended today with a jury conviction of guilty on 10 counts of Capital Murder. The jury recommended a death sentence, according to the Mobile DA's office.
Derrick Dearman was found guilty of using an ax and a rifle to go on a killing spree in Citronelle.
Authorities say Dearman injected himself with meth before he brutally killed five adults, including a pregnant woman.
Investigators say Dearman kidnapped another woman, and a child, but let them go.
He faces six Capital Murder charges, one for the unborn baby, and two charges of kidnapping.
According to court records, Dearman plead guilty to three of the Capital Murder counts on Friday.
