Grand Bay man sentenced to life in prison for axe attack
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) —
Donald Toomer was sentenced to life in prison today after entering a blind plea to Assault 1st and Burglary 1st for attacking a woman with an axe in 2016, according to the Mobile DA's office.
Toomer broke into Keila Oliver's home in 2016 and brutally beat her with an axe handle. She is permentaly disabled as a result of the assault.
Toomer was facing charges of attempted murder in the case in 2016, after initially being charged with assault and burglary.
