GAF Manufacturing Plant set to close its doors
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) —
For years midtown residents have complained about a foul odor they believe comes from GAF, a roofing and shingles company that sits in their neighborhood
They may soon get some relief.
According to a Lagniappe article GAF will close it's doors next year in August.
Latoni Wilson has lived in the neighborhood for nine years.
She says the plant closed once before but later reopened.
She says dealing with the smell and allergies is a big headache.
In February the Mobile County Health Department said GAF wasn't responsible for the odor.
They claimed the smell came from another company that stopped operations in 2017.
The plant has 61 employees.
GAF will offer them positions at its facility in Savannah, Georgia
