Food trucks gaining popularity in downtown Mobile
There used to be only a handful of food trucks in Mobile and now there are at least a dozen that frequent the city.
City Councilman Levon Manzie is concerned about where they're doing business.
Food trucks have become a staple of downtown offering everything from healthy food to conecuh nachos.
Councilman Levon Manzie says he's simply concerned that local restaurants are losing business from the trucks.
Restaurant owners we spoke to hadn't heard of any issues like that. Food truck owners tell us they deserve an opportunity to make a living too.
Councilman Manzie said he has given the issue to a committee to consider. Food truck owners tell me the rules right now are public spaces, or if they're given permission by a business.
