Florida Highway Patrol investigating death at I-10 rest area in Santa Rosa County

On February 9, 2019, at approximately 10:33 a.m., the Florida Highway Patrol, Pensacola District Troopers responded to a welfare check at the I-10 westbound rest area at the 30-mile marker.

Upon their arrival, they observed a tractor-trailer which matched the description of the vehicle.

Troopers attempted to make contact with the driver, with no success. Upon gaining access into the tractor’s cab, they observed a white male unresponsive.

Trooper’s notified EMS, East Milton Fire/Rescue, and Lifeguard Ambulance Service responded.

A white male, was pronounced deceased at 11:07 a.m. The investigation is on-going.
