Final BayBears season offers more bang for less bucks

More Fireworks. More Giveaways. More Entertainment. New Food & Drink Additions. LESS Cost!

The Mobile BayBears are undertaking efforts to let our community know that in the Farewell Season of 2019 the BayBears will be: "Going Out with a BANG!"

Our season-long multi-platform campaign will include TV, radio, Internet, social media, and billboards. The lead spots and tagline highlight FIREWORKS which are the most consistent promotional draw for MiLB, an amenity that has become synonymous with Minor League Baseball. But “Going Out with a BANG!” also references a variety of new giveaways, an enhanced game experience, upgraded concessions, and affordability.

The 2019 season, the BayBears 23rd and final year, will include more fireworks nights, more giveaways, added entertainment, and new food and drink options -- all at a lower cost. In 2018, for the 4th consecutive year, Minor League Baseball was named the "Most Family Friendly Game or Event" by a wide margin, mentioned by nearly half of the respondents in the annual SportsBusiness Journal Readers' Survey (43% with MLB 2nd at 17%).

Professional baseball has a rich history in Mobile dating back to 1887 and the city touts more native Major League Baseball Hall of Famers (5) than any city other than New York or Chicago. Because of this rich history, the desire to honor the legacy of baseball in Mobile and, especially, the supporters of the BayBears, the team’s new ownership group is bucking trends and investing mightily in the final season, rather than reducing budgets.

"The great people of Mobile deserve an opportunity to experience a final season worth remembering," said BallCorps Managing Partner and CEO, Ralph Nelson. "The game itself is never the main reason people attend Minor League Baseball. It is the affordable family fun, the memories that are made across generations; it is the crazy fun and fireworks. We are making a promise to the community and fans of Mobile that when you attend a game in the coming season you will have more fun at our ballpark than ever before. We can’t wait to see you at the Hank."

To commemorate the final season the BayBears are unveiling a new logo (below) that will be featured throughout the campaign and on a new line of merchandise that will be available online and in the team gift shop.

The team is also releasing their initial promotional schedule (which includes 5 Bobblehead Nights) and partial plan packages that for the first time ever, guarantee a Bobblehead to partial and season ticket holders in attendance. Fans who purchase these packages no longer have to be the first people in the stadium to ensure they leave with a fun and highly desirable memento from the game.

Everyone within the BayBears organization is energized for the upcoming season, as new General Manager Ken Clary explains: “We are very excited about the prospects of the Farewell Season. Ownership has given us the resources to allow us to do more giveaways, more fireworks, and more entertainment. Our goal is to create new memories, one game at a time. We are going to celebrate our rich history and remember the great moments, the great players, and the great teams that our fans have adored watching.”
