Code Red Weather: Saturday night storms

    Saturday Severe Threat Areas

Mild, Murky and Muggy weather into the weekend with areas of DENSE FOG again in the forecast overnight and through Friday morning. A *dense fog advisory* is in effect until Noon Friday, so be careful out there!

Our next weathermaker moves through this weekend., Saturday night to be specific. We'll see warm and muggy conditions fuel scattered thunderstorms around the time it gets dark Saturday evening. We'll also be monitoring a line of thunderstorms that will develop during the day Saturday, but won't move into our area until Saturday night. The most violent weather will remain well to our north (North Mississippi, Tennessee) a few strong storms with gusty wind are possible closer to the Gulf Coast. Saturday night is a Code Red weather alert for our northern counties (Washington, Clarke, Greene) due to that severe risk.

The timing of that line of storms: 8pm-Midnight through Mobile and Baldwin Counties. That means most of Saturday will be OK for your outdoor activities. Breezy, cloudy, and humid with a few quick showers, but otherwise quiet.

Check back often as we continue to track our next weathermaker. Also, be sure to download our free NBC 15 Weather App. Go to the app store and type in WPMI WX. You will have our latest forecast, interactive radar, weather videos, and updated watches and warnings.

Sunday will bring us clouds to start the day, afternoon clearing and a cooler breeze out of the north...and it will be a dry day around here. I'm also looking at a dry forecast for Monday before the rain returns Tuesday into Wednesday of next week.
