Code Red Weather Alert Day
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) —
It will be a stormy start with rounds of rain that could result in slowdowns.
Grab the rain gear-rounds of rain will pour in the Port City today!
Thunderstorms also set to roll with us into a brand new work week. Loud lighting will fire up within these storms, so if you're outdoors, and skies look threatening, be ready to make that dash indoors if you hear a rumble of thunder.
Intense rainfall could cause some delays, so leave home early if storms are around. Rain-cooled air will keep our max numbers in the upper 80s.
A break in the wet weather pattern is in sight this week. Here's the deal. The first significant cold front of the season is slipping south.
Ahead and south of the front, showers and storms are a safe bet on Tuesday.
Some could even be on the strong-side producing gusty winds and small hail, but a widespread severe weather event is not expected.
In the wake of the cold front, plan on a significant drop in humidity.
Dry air will invade the area as the front clears. Our low temps should tumble into the upper 60s Wednesday night and Thursday night.
We've not seen a temp lower than 70° in Mobile since June 7th!
Rip Current Risk Forecast:
The tropics are currently quiet with no imminent areas of concern.
