Cat thrown from car window on I-10 in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) A kitten in Mobile is making a miraculous recovery after witnesses say she thrown from a moving car on I-10 Tuesday morning.

A woman reported seeing someone in the car in front of her throw the cat out of the window. The good Samaritan picked up the small kitten and took her to Rehm Animal Clinic in Mobile. Dr. Chris Rehm has been taking care of her and said she's lucky to be alive.

"She's lucky she wasn't hit by another car," he said, "the car was traveling at a high-rated speed threw her out and she landed on her jaw and foot. Those areas got what we call 'degloved' where the skin gets pulled away from the underlying tissues. Thankfully, she's doing better."

Rehm said he's optimistic the cat will make a full recovery. He's also hopeful the people responsible will get caught.

"I can't imagine anybody doing something this heinous to any live creature," he said.
