Bayou La Batre braces for Tropical Storm Gordon
BAYOU LA BATRE, Ala. (WPMI) —
Voluntary evacuations are taking place in Bayou La Batre this afternoon.
Police will be out in the in the streets monitoring activity and debris.
We spoke to Mayor Downy who says the main concern is the storm surge. We’re talking 4 to 6 feet and high risk of flooding.
After the storm, residents and business owners won’t need a pass to get back in the bayou, but they will need an ID showing that they are a citizen.
