Local law enforcement agencies recovered approximately 35 kilos (77.1 pounds) of cocaine from the Gulf of Mexico, south of Pensacola, Florida, Sunday according to a press release.

The Coast Guard received a call at approximately 6 p.m. Saturday from a good Samaritan of a bale of cocaine floating in the water south of Pensacola.

The Coast Guard Station Pensacola sent a boat crew to search for the drugs through the evening.

Other agencies that joined the search were the Coast Guard in Mobile, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Air Marine Operations and an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Marine Patrol vessel.
