Arrest, release, repeat: Alabama's justice system
A repeat offender released from prison early has a familiar view tonight of jail bars. Terrance Dixon is back at Metro jail facing 38 counts of using a stolen credit card. It's a major headache we're sure for the victim in this case who had their credit card stolen. The kicker is it all could been avoided if Dixon had served his prison sentence.
Dixon was sentenced to 15 years in prison March 25th 2015. But Wednesday was already out, police say, using a stolen credit card. He also faces an additional count of a parole violation.
And get this, he was also sentenced to 15 years in 2010, but obviously didn't serve all that time either.
Dixon's first trip to Metro was nearly 19 years ago on a robbery charge, and he's been a frequent flyer ever since. Charges from his past including burglary, parole violations and escape.
