Alabama Power crews head to Carolinas for Florence response
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) —
Alabama Power crews were preparing to assist with outages in South Carolina today preparation for the landfall of Hurricane Florence tonight.
Trucks loaded with gear and about 70 workers from Mobile left Tuesday headed for LaGrange, Georgia where they'll wait out the storm, before moving into the Carolinas to assist.
Alabama Power is sending a total of about 350 lineman with bucket trucks and other equipment to help Duke Energy restore power once the hurricane moves through the area Thursday-Sunday.
