ORIGINAL STORY:

Mobile police say three people were shot in broad daylight Thursday.

It happened at the corner of Navco Road and Nortons Lane.

"All of a sudden I heard like boom, boom, boom, boom, boom," neighbor Patricia Knight said.

Knight says she was sitting on her porch when she heard a round of gunshots.

"I just fell on the concrete, crawled and opened my door and in the hallway dialed 911," she said.

It happened around 5 p.m. Police say three people were shot and transported to the hospital. Police say their injuries are not life threating.

Investigators roped off a large portion of Nortons Lane and focused on a house in the 2400 block.

They marked up to at least 16 shell casings in the driveway and even one on top of a garbage can.

"Another shooting in the same place and this time someone got shot," Knight said.

Knight says this is the third shooting in the area in the last three months. She says her house was even hit one time.

"I have never had to fall on the floor so many times in my life," she said, "Out of fear, that's the first thing you do is just fall to the floor."

She says the neighborhood has changed. Neighbors say they hope the violence in the area ends soon.

"I wish these kids would get theirselves together because all these children act like they have no remorse for life and they act as if the dead come back and I don't get it," neighbor Toni Coats said.
