Primary Election Day

(IMG:MGN) Today is the Primary Election for Alabama U.S. Senate.

It's Primary Election day in Alabama, but only for the U.S. Senate seat formerly held by Jeff Session, who is now U.S. Attorney General.

Nine republicans and seven democrats are battling for the seat currently held by former state attorney general, Luther Strange, who was appointed to the post by Former Governor Robert Bentley.

If a run-off is necessary for either party, that will be held September 26th, with the two winners going head-to-head in a final vote December 12th.

Polls open at 7:00 this morning and will be open until 7:00 tonight.
