Mobile municipal elections held today

(IMG:WPMI) Mobile's municipal elections are being held today.

The Mobile municipal elections are today! So make sure you get out and let your voices be heard.

The Mayor's race is a heated contest.

Mayor Sandy Stimpson is squaring off with Former Mayor Sam Jones and political newcomers Donavette Ely and Anthony Thompson.

There are several council members fighting to keep their seat as well.

Longtime Councilman Fred Richardson faces three challengers: Perrey Berens, Timothy Hollis, and Cory Penn.

Leola Chaney is up against District 3 Councilman C.J. Small.

Robert Martin is challenging Councilman John Williams in District 4.

Councilman Joel Daves is up against Arianna McArthur.

In District 6, Councilwoman Bess Rich faces off against challenger Deryl Pendelton.

Gina Gregory of District 7 and Levon Manzie of District 2 are unopposed.

The polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

We want to make sure you are aware that your polling place for the municipal election may be different than your voting place for last week's Senate primary election.

Voters should have received a postcard in the mail with information about their voting place.

If you are still unsure where you need to go to cast your vote, you can search from the City of Mobile's website.
