(Troy, AL)--Despite being heavy underdogs and struggling to find any offense, South Alabama stunned Troy 19-8 Wednesday night at Veteran's Memorial Stadium. The Trojans looked anything like the team that knocked off LSU ten days earlier and didn't find the end zone until late in the 4th quarter. The Jaguars had their own problems, especially on offense where they were outgained in total offense 299-224. Dallas Davis replaced starter Cole Garvin at quarterback and provided a spark, leading the jags downfield on its first possession of the second half, capping the drive with a 14 yard touchdown pass to Malik Stanley giving South a 16-0 lead. Gavin patterson later added a career long 47-yard field goal in the 4th period.

The Jags now have ten days to get ready for their homecoming game against Louisiana-Monroe October 21.
