Nick Saban in town for Senior Bowl practice
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) —
As we've been talking about all week, there are a lot of local players on this year's Senior Bowl roster. Both from our area, and as always, there was a good number from Auburn and Alabama.
Tuesday, Gus Malzahn was in town supporting his guys. Wednesday, Nick Saban was walking the sidelines at Ladd-Peebles, watching the the five Crimson Tide players on the south squad.
The head coach has been a big fan of the Senior Bowl players completing their college eligibility. He isn't big on players who leave school early, and spoke about it.
A real disadvantage for NFL players versus the other major professional sports is there are no guaranteed contracts. And the average NFL career is less than four years.
Always smart to get that college degree.
