Alabama HS football gets instant replay, starting this fall
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) —
Beginning in the fall of this year Alabama high school football will have new technology at its fingertips.
The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Central Board of Control approved Instant Replay technology for football games at its board meeting at the AHSAA Office Thursday, according to the groups website.
Instant replay technology, which has been widely used in professional, college and high school sports across the country for many years, allows refs to instantly view a replay of the latest play on a tablet like an iPad.
Along with instant Replay, the AHSAA also added E-Sports as a recognized sport on a trial basis.
