Reality Check: United States Department of Housing and Urban Development helping Mobile
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) —
$8 million is coming to the coast in an effort to repair low income housing.
HUD is helping the Mobile housing board make some much needed changes for families living in low income housing.
Mobile Housing Board's director says each community will get a piece of the $8 million dollar pie.
The money is 3 million more than last year.
But it's only a drop in the bucket for the more than $200 million needed in repairs for older, low income buildings.
He says that $8 million will be spent based on a triage system as they work to modernize affordable housing in Mobile.
