According to the Mobile County Sheriff's Office, on Friday, March 16 at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Sheriffs's Office was advised of a vehicle accident on River Woods Road, a private property in Citronelle, where two people had drowned.

The deceased occupants in the vehicle were identified as Karen Kohn (DOB 11/29/63) and Lee Nall (DOB 8/12/55).

Both occupants were unable to free themselves and drowned inside the vehicle.

It was reported that Nall was driving his truck and Kohn was a passenger.

A person connected to Kohn, Benjamin Hoven, was leaving the residence of the property and heading to work when he spotted Nall's truck upside down and partially submerged in the creek beside a small dirt bridge several hundred yards from their residence. Hoven immediately jumped into the water but was unable to extricate Nall or Kohn from the vehicle. Hoven ran to a nearby neighbor to call 911.

The investigation revealed that Nall had maneuvered the truck too close to the edge of the dirt bridge and the side of the bridge gave way, possibly due to the heavy rain during the day, causing the truck to slide several feet down the side and roll over into the water. The water appeared to be 6-7 feet in depth.

The deaths are considered accidental and the case is pending the results of the autopsies.
