Teen turns himself in for fatal Mobile crash
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) —
16-year-old Wilkinson Nichols Howes turned himself in to Mobile Police Friday. He is charged with manslaughter.
A police report obtained by NBC 15 News shows a 16-year-old driver involved in a fatal January 2018 crash that a killed Mobile mother was going 92 mph in a 30 mph zone.
The report says the 16-year-old boy hit Claudia Leatherwood as she pulled out of a driveway on Lloyd's Lane November 3rd last year. She was killed in the crash. Her two children who were also in the car survived.
Brooke Leatherwood had serious head trauma and was in the hospital for more than a month. The 9-year-old can now walk and talk again and was released before the holidays.
