Sam Jones confirms intent to run for Mobile Mayor
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) —
Former Mobile Mayor Sam Jones has confirmed that an announcement on his upcoming campaign for Mobile Mayor will come later this week. Jones sent out the following email Tuesday
I want to begin by simply saying thank you for all the support you have given to me over the years. I am writing you today, to inform you that, after much prayer and consideration, I am excited to make an important Campaign announcement on this weekend, Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 4:30pm at the Greater Nazaree Baptist Church, located at 511 North Franklin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36603. I would be honored to have you, your family, and neighbors in attendance of this joyous and historic event.
The fate of our city is in our hands and we need every voice to be heard. We need your help to build a strong, organized, and aggressive grassroots operation. So I am also writing to ask you to join our team as a campaign volunteer. There’s no special expertise required, and you don’t have to have to be a political expert. Like me, all you need is the personal commitment, determination, and belief that you can help make a difference in the quality of life for the citizens of Mobile. I firmly believe that volunteers like you, are the most important part of any political movement. There’s phone calling to be done, envelope stuffing, typing, data entry, deliveries…you name it. There’s a lot to do, and we can’t do it without your help.
Again, I look forward to seeing you at 4:30 p.m., on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the Greater Nazaree Baptist Church, as I make my historic announcement. Again, thank you for all of your support and may God bless you,
