Mobile woman had counterfeit money machine inside of her home

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office and agents with the Secret Service are investigating after a Mobile woman was found with a money printing machine inside of her home.

Ashlund Burley, 33, is currently being held in Mobile Metro Jail on 65 different charges, including possession of a forged instrument, identity theft, and possession of a forgery device. She was arrested Thursday.

“Yesterday, when we got the search warrant, went to her house, we saw the machines and she was printing on the computer," said Lori Myles with the Mobile County Sheriff's Office, " the detective said there was about about $9,690 there in the house.”

Lori Myles with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said an informant tipped them off about the counterfeit money. She said Burley was working with an inmate inside of a prison in Alabama who was teaching her how to run the operation. Neighbors said they never saw any odd activity at the family's home near Stanton Road.
