One shot during Chickasaw Christmas Parade



During the Chickasaw Christmas Parade, Chickasaw police responded to reports of shots fired North Craft Highway.

Police Chief Chris Mclean told NBC 15 that around 3:15 p.m. after the Christmas parade was underway, officers heard a gunshot.

Near Chickasaw High School, a large dog had attacked a man's smaller dog and received multiple bites to his hand. Others came to assist and help rescue his animal from the large dog that is believed to be a stray. When a woman retrieved his dog the man had a small hand gun and had fired it striking the woman in the hand.

The woman was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening shot to the hand. According to what witnesses told police, the man was attempting to shoot the dog.


Chickasaw Fire Department has confirmed there was a gunshot outside of Chickasaw City Hall.

The incident happened during Chickasaw's Christmas parade.
