Gulf Shores leaders are standing by Flora-Bama’s request for MTV to rename its new show called “FloriBama.” A new trailer released shows cast members partying at the beach and bars in Panama City, Florida. Gulf Coast leaders say it’s not the image they want people to have of the coastal beach towns.

“There is a lot of concern. Any kind of portrayal of our region and our area being anything but a family friendly destination goes against what we’ve worked so hard for years to overcome and the negative portrayal of the state of Alabama community,” said Grant Brown with the City of Gulf Shores.

Vince Kilborn, attorney for Flora-Bama owner John McInnis, said they plan to file a lawsuit.

One of the cast members is from Baldwin County. NBC 15’s Andrea Ramey caught up with her today to ask about the controversy. Her report airs at 5pm.
