Family of Ken Stabler honored at QB’s alma mater
FOLEY, Ala., (WPMI) —
The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Ford Motor Company will pay tribute to NFL legend and Class of 2016 enshrinee Ken Stabler at his alma mater, Foley High School on August 19, 2016. The family of the late Stabler will be honored as a part of the “Hometown Hall of Famer” program. The presentation will be held at halftime of Foley High School varsity football game at 7 p.m.
Family members of Stabler, an Alabama native and graduate of Foley High School, will be on hand at his former high school for a special event and plaque presentation. Following the presentation, the plaque will be on permanent display at the school.
Ken Stabler was a 15-year NFL veteran with the Oakland Raiders, Houston Oilers and the New Orleans Saints. He was a Super Bowl XI Champion (Oakland Raiders), NFL MVP (1974), 4-time Pro Bowl selection and a 2016 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinee.
“Hometown Hall of Famer” is a national program that honors the hometown roots of the greatest heroes of the game with special ceremonies and plaque dedication events in local communities.
