DA: No criminal charges after 1-year-old shot, killed
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) —
Mobile Police say the District Attorney's Office has not found evidence to support criminal charges in the case where they say a 1-year-old boy was accidentally shot and killed Monday in Mobile:
At the conclusion of the investigation, the elements were presented to the District Attorney's Office who affirmed that there were no elements of probable cause to establish the commission of a criminal offense.

Mobile Fire-Rescue confirms a one-year-old was taken to a local hospital after reports of a possible accidental shooting on Domain Street in Mobile, near the intersection of Three Notch Road and Schillinger Road.
According to Mobile Police Chief Lawrence Battiste, officers responded around 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The child was taken to the hospital.
The mother, the one-year-old, and a two-year-old child were also home at the time of the shooting.
The mother went behind to a detached building out back to tell her mother-in-law that she was about to leave when the two-year-old emerged and reported to his mother that his ears were ringing.
There are two other siblings who were at school when the shooting occurred.
The weapon, believed to be a 9mm, is believed to belong to the mother-in-law.
