Charges: Man shot, killed sister’s boyfriend in shooting on Carleton Street
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) —
Theodore Roberts appeared before a judge Monday morning accused of shooting and killing James Gipson.
The 24-year-old was shot and killed inside of a home on Carleton Avenue. Roberts was arrested and charged with murder. After his bond hearing, Monday morning, his attorney Dennis Knizley said it was self-defense. He said that Gipson was dating the gunman's sister.
"It appears to be it will self-defense of another," Knizley said, "there had been some violence over the course of the relationship".
Roberts remains at Mobile Metro Jail charged with murder. He is in jail on a $75,000 bond.
