Alabama Troopers identify driver killed in I-10 Bayway crash halting traffic for hours
MOBILE, Ala (WPMI) —
Alabama State Troopers have identified the victim in Thursday morning's I-10 Bay way crash that slowed traffic to a standstill for nearly six hours.
Shortly after 7:30 a.m. Alabama State Troopers responded to a four-vehicle crash on the westbound side of the I-10 Bayway between the off and on ramps of exit 30, according to a press release.
Upon arrival, troopers learned that the driver of one of the vehicles, Lori Lynn McLendon, 37, of Loxley , had suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
McLendon was driving a 2014 Toyota Camry. Others involved were: Jeffrey Linzy, of Cantonment, FL driving a 2007 Ford Expedition; Jamie Beshel, of Daphne, AL driving a 2014 Volkswagen; Patrick Perry Jr driving a 2013 Ford truck.
All vehicles were traveling westbound prior to the crash and were either slowing or stopped in traffic due to an earlier crash.
A chain reaction crash ensued that resulted in the pile up. Traffic remained diverted onto the causeway into the early afternoon as troopers worked to clear and process the scene. Nothing further is available as the investigation continues.
